Baleoh / Expertise

Architecture that supports your product.

APIs, data, integrations and performance. We build and evolve the technical foundations that let your software deliver on its promises.

Discuss your architecture

Your needs

Manage complexity without adding more.

An API is slowing down, background jobs fail without explanation, integrations keep growing or a change has become too risky. Before switching stacks, the real constraints need to be understood.

We work on business rules, data models, interfaces and operations. The goal is an architecture your team understands, suited to observed volumes and planned changes. A modular monolith or separate services: the choice should follow the context.

Deliverables

Explicit decisions. Observable services.

01

Architecture and contracts

A map of components, responsibilities and API contracts. Important decisions and their trade-offs are documented.

02

Data and consistency

Data models, migrations, transactions and integrity rules. Retries, duplicates and partial failures are addressed explicitly.

03

Performance and resilience

Measurements, load profiles and bottleneck analysis. Optimisations are checked against the workflows that matter.

04

Operations and handover

Tests, useful logs, operating metrics and intervention procedures. The team can diagnose and evolve the system.

Example engagement

Make a billing workflow reliable.

Allow a job to run again without creating duplicates, trace the events behind an amount and handle an external service failure. Financial rules remain explicit and tested; a language model does not replace deterministic calculations.

An illustrative example, not a client reference.

Method

A process shaped around your project.

01

Observe

Read the code, data and incidents. Measure before drawing conclusions.

02

Decide

Compare options, migration costs and limitations.

03

Evolve

Protect critical workflows and deploy changes incrementally.

04

Hand over

Document decisions, check metrics and support the team.

Frequently asked questions

Before getting started.

Do we need to rewrite our backend?

A rewrite is not our starting assumption. We assess local improvements, modularisation and incremental migration before proposing a more expensive break with the existing system.

Do you only work with Ruby on Rails?

No. Rust, Python and Ruby on Rails are part of our technical environment. Languages and tools are chosen for the product, constraints and team that will maintain them.

How do you avoid a service interruption?

The plan depends on the system: compatible migrations, temporary coexistence, load testing, gradual deployment and rollback. Availability requirements are defined before the work starts.

Can you work with our internal team?

Yes. An engagement can involve an architecture review, a focused improvement or hands-on work with your developers. Knowledge transfer is part of the scope we agree together.
